North Tyneside residents who are also creatives/artists were recruited from across the borough to take part in a six week capacity building programme.
Each week the volunteer artists developed skills in participant recruitment, risk management, budgeting and much more. Each volunteer at the end of the training, then had the opportunity to put their new skills into practice. Pitching their own social action projects to a panel for the chance to earn a commission.
This resulted in the successful funding of ‘Portraits of Hope’ and a Better Connect Commission for ‘Home Thoughts‘.
