We are committed to overcoming obstacles to arts access and participation, to increasing equality of opportunity with diverse communities, and to breaking down barriers between artists and communities.

Helix Arts was born on Wearside in 1983 and was originally known as Artists' Agency. Find out more about our almost 40-year history here.

We work with communities across the North East of England. Our work currently focuses on arts and health, social inclusion, and criminal justice.

Helix Arts has a long history of working at the forefront of participatory arts metrics and is recognised as a leader in peer reflection and social policy.

Helix Arts is a proud provider of Trinity College, London’s Arts Award. Allowing young people to not only gain accreditation but to explore the arts.
