Creative Table is an artist dinner party where we invite creatives across all practices and career stages to gather, collaborate, support each other, learn and share a meal.
Upcoming Events
Tuesday 28th July 2026, 6pm- 9pm, Lubber Kitchen, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 3PZ
You are invited to join Newcastle-based artists Dan Goodman and Kitty McKay to share a meal, meet other creative practitioners and make gold (not literally).
In this session, you will be asked to draw up a recipe for making gold in your creative practice – whatever this looks like for you. Working in groups, you’ll be encouraged to reflect on your shared goals and how you might achieve them through making a recipe for doing so!
There will be free delicious dinner provided by the talented chefs at Lubber Kitchen and drinks will be available for purchase. This is a great chance to reflect on the things that make your creative practice golden, as well as an opportunity to meet new folk from around Newcastle’s creative and cultural scenes.
This workshop is adapted from Shift/Work’s “Make Gold”. Shift/Work, directed by Neil Mulholland and Dan Brown, is a series of performative pedagogy workshops, all openly available for remake and reuse under Creative Commons.
This Creative Table is now fully booked but if you want to be added to the waiting list in case of cancellations let us know.
Tuesday 29th September 2026, 6pm- 9pm, Lubber Kitchen, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 3PZ
As the series draws to a close, this session will look out from Newcastle’s Cultural and Creative Zone to other towns and cities where exciting projects are happening. Will Hughes will reflect on their experiences of working in Middlesbrough, setting up a cooperative wood workshop and being Tees Valley Artist of the Year. We will ask the question: “how can artists in Newcastle learn from, grow and collaborate with other creatives and initiatives in the region and beyond?”
There will be free delicious dinner provided by the talented chefs at Lubber Kitchen and drinks will be available for purchase.
Spaces for both events are limited and booking is essential.
