Through detached work, community days and events, local residents had the opportunity to deep-dive into the issues into their area. Some of the identified issues that they were interested in addressing were; Safety in the area; nothing for young people and children being bored; more parks; Anti-social behaviour.
As a result of the consultation and emphasis on these issues, Playful Pavements was developed. It was planned as a day of reclaiming the streets in the face of community safety concerns for play, joy and celebrating the things the residents love about their area and the community they are a part of. Encouraging not only involvement in free artist-led workshops but how the use of simple resources can provide a plethora of activity.
