Come along to the launch of Our Woven Voices - a new sculpture outside the Magistrates Court in North Shields!

The event takes place 11am – 12 noon and is a great opportunity to celebrate this new public artwork that incorporates the creativity and ideas of more than 1,000 local people.

The launch will take place outside the North Tyneside Magistrates Court, Tynemouth Rd, Tynemouth, North Shields NE30 1AG and is free to attend.

Celebrate the Unveiling of "Our Woven Voices" Thursday, 17 July | 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM 📍 Outside the Magistrates' Court, Tynemouth Road, North Shields, NE30 1AG (Corner of Tynemouth Rd & Stephenson St) Join us for a special event as we reveal Our Woven Voices — a powerful new public sculpture created with and for the North Shields community. In 2023, over 1,000 local residents participated in creative workshops led by Helix Arts, sharing their personal reflections on what North Shields means to them. These stories inspired internationally acclaimed artist Aaron Li-Hill, who brought their vision to life through a sculpture of two intertwined figures — a symbol of unity, support, and shared identity. Our Woven Voices

November 2022 - Ongoing

Our Woven Voices is a public art installation near the magistrates court in North Shields.

The artwork was inspired by the creativity of more than 1,000 residents who worked with artist Laura Brenchley. International artist Aaron Li-Hill used this to create the finished sculpture.
