Our Woven Voices – is finished!
Born from numerous workshops with artists Aaron Li-Hill and Laura Brenchley where more than 1,000 local people co-designed a permanent public artwork for North Shields town centre in 2023, the sculpture now stands proudly in front of the Magistrates Court.
We’ve had loads of positive comments from passers by, so go and check it out!
The sculpture was created by Aaron Li-Hill who took inspiration from the resident’s artworks and stories, and from local dancers.
Our Woven Voices represents the overwhelming spirit of togetherness and connectedness that the people who took part felt about #NorthShields.
The commission is part of North Tyneside Council‘s An Ambition for North Shields masterplan for North Shields.
