Participants from across South Tyneside worked with artist Susan Warlock on a creative journaling project in 2015. Aiming to improve the wellbeing and resilience of those involved, each week Susan taught a new journaling technique, allowing participants to channel their emotions into their art and gain confidence in themselves.

Sessions were led by the desires of the group with artwork being unique to each individual.

“The course exceeded my expectations. I expected to learn about creating and developing participative arts programmes, but I also learned new skills and best practice guidelines in other areas such as recruitment, consultation, project management and budgeting.”
