Elizabeth Kane

Creative Producer

Elizabeth began as Creative Producer on a freelance basis in December 2020. Then became part of the team in March 2021. She brings her experience working at arts organisation including The Customs House Learning and Participation Team, Shipley Art Gallery and Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art.

Like many people Helix Arts works with, Elizabeth is a freelance artist. She has worked with North East primary and secondary schools, Gateshead Arts team, Blue Cabin, Sunderland Culture, Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums Learning Team, Wallsend Town Centre team, North Tyneside Council, South Tyneside Libraries and Durham Libraries.

Elizabeth is the founding member of founded South Tyneside Creatives. A space for those working or aspiring to work in the arts to support each other. She is a member of North East Art Teacher and Educators Network and Artists Union England.

Elizabeth achieved a distinction from Newcastle University on the MA Art Museum and Gallery Education programme. She is a qualified secondary art school teacher.
