If you can’t make it in person to one of the public workshops with artist Laura Brenchley then you can still contribute your ideas for the North Shields Public Artworks. Take a look at the video below featuring Laura who will be running the collage workshops, make something, take a photo and and email it to info@helixarts.com please put Public Artworks in the email subject line. You could also include a couple of lines about why you chose the design and what it means to you.
All of the designs made in workshops and sent to us via email will be curated by Laura in to a Community Sketchbook for North Shields which will act as a starting point for Aaron Li Hill who will be designing the artworks based on all of the ideas gathered in the workshops.
Throughout February, March and April 2023 Laura Brenchley will be delivering workshops in education and community settings to gather as many ideas as possible for the Public Art Community Sketchbook. Check our NEWS pages for details of public sessions in and around North Shields.
So far Laura has worked with Christchurch Primary, Spring Gardens Primary, Norham High School, John Spence High School, North Tyneside Art Studio, MumSpace North Shields and Cedarwood Trust. Almost 300 contributions and sketchbook pages of ideas and stories have been collected so far.
