Go and see…

Go and see the new creative writing exhibition in Wallsend library.

This image shows three individuals sitting at a table engaged in an activity that involves writing and drawing. The individuals' faces are blurred for privacy. On the table, there are various items including a water bottle, a smartphone, a red snack bar, a pair of glasses, a few cups, and some papers. One of the papers has a drawing made with purple lines and shapes. Another individual is writing in a notebook with a black pen. There are also name tags on the table.

Head along to Wallsend Library to enjoy the poetry by our Better Connect participants created in workshops with writer Amanda Quinn. You can take a read, have a listen or even take time to write something yourself. The exhibition is on until the end of January.

About the work

This exhibition is a collection of poems written by participants in recent

Better Connect creative writing workshops led by writer Amanda Quinn at Wallsend Library.

The group wrote about their memories and experiences of libraries using the pantoum form. See the display for more about how to write these. They also wrote about small good things they appreciated in life – these are free verse poems which don’t rhyme or follow a form.

Thank you to all of the writers involved and North Tyneside Libraries for supporting this project.
