Explore Perceptions of Use Resources

The following resources explore the perceptions of use by young people.

About these resources.

Would You?

A series of provocations and discussion starters, this resource is designed to get young people talking in a non-judgemental way about what they would and would not do. Young people are encouraged to add their own questions and topics to promote healthy debate.

Horror Stories We Tell Ourselves

This poem was created by Don Jenkins (Slam Fresh Poetry) after a series of workshops with the young people from Churchill Community College. Created from a series of character work and conversations about drug use, ‘Horror Stories We Tell Ourselves’ allows young people to break down stereotypes around drug use and the rumours which may stem from it.

Pro’s & Cons of Drug Use Animation

Created by the young people of Barnardo’s The Base, this animation looks at the perceived pro’s and cons of drug use examining the illegality of drugs as well as the different effects they may have.

It’s All on You Track

This track was created by young people from Foundation Futures and rapper Kema Kay. Examining the effects of use as well as young people’s mental health, this song encourages you to put yourself first and consider yourself in the perspective of the songs character.
