Helix Arts has delivered high quality, safe arts experiences throughout the pandemic.

On Monday 19th July, most restrictions associated with pandemic were lifted and wearing a face covering is now a personal choice in England, however we also know many people may still choose to wear face covering, particularly those who are more vulnerable.

We are committed to ensuring all our participants, partners, volunteers, artists and employees are kept as safe as possible. So, for the time being, we will be continuing to encourage everyone taking part in in-person sessions (unless exempt) to wear face coverings, maintain social distancing, regularly sanitise their hands and to not attend sessions if they feel unwell or have a high temperature.

Thank you for your understanding.

We’re excited to announce that we’re leading one of the recently announced Thriving Communities projects. Our project is called Better Connect and it’ll be launching soon!

Carers in our community have been adversely hit by COVID-19. Especially unpaid carers, those who are often forgotten about and not accessing the support they need.

Activities will include a creative community listening programme; heritage and home kits; dance classes to reduce risk of falls, improve physical health and reduce loneliness; reading coaches providing access to books; a mental health support network; mindful creativity; a range of fitness activities and outdoor and gardening activities; therapeutic horticulture/friendship and cooking group; training for volunteering in North Shields regeneration; a holiday respite programme around telling personal stories; and many opportunities for personal development.

If you’d like to take part or would like to find out more, please get in touch below and we’ll be in touch – or sign up here!
