Tin Arts
Supporting Durham-based arts organisation Tin Arts to undertake organisational development including business modelling and long-term strategic planning.
Public Sector Procurement of the Arts
Working with Northumberland Tyne & Wear NHS Trust and National Probation Service (Co. Durham) to explore and develop best practice models for public sector procurement of the Arts and to share the findings with other organisations.
Skills Action Plan
2007
A series of focus groups contributing to the development of an Arts Development Skills Action Plan, and focussed on participatory arts with young people at risk, to complement the North East Creative and Cultural Skills Action Plan. Commissioned by Arts Council England North East.
Arts Studio for Adults with Learning Disabilities
2005
Exploring the potential for an integrated community-based arts studio in Sunderland for adults with learning disabilities.
NEMLAC
2003
Helix Arts provided advice and information to NEMLAC (North East Museums, Libraries and Archives Council) on commissioning an artist to work with them on a forthcoming ethnographic exhibition and assisted with the recruitment and selection of a suitable artist.

- A study for the Environment Agency investigating how the arts can help the Agency to develop new programmes to combat priority pollution problems
- A study into setting up a sculpture studio in Sunderland and an initial pilot education project in collaboration with CEED (Community Environmental Educational Developments)
- A study leading to a residency funded by One NorthEast and supported by South Tyneside College to provide a landscaped entrance to Monkton Business Park on the site of the old Cokeworks at Hebburn in Tyne and Wear
- A study commissioned by Nexus to develop a sculpture garden at Four Lane Ends Metro station in Newcastle
- A study Arts, Health and Healing in West Newcastle which led to a long term project at Centre for the Health of the Elderly at Newcastle General Hospital
- A study for an arts project for Aycliffe Young People's Centre in Co. Durham
- A study Looking Beyond for Easington District Council
- A study of the potential for collaborative projects between artist, communities and scientists to tackle pollution and address global environmental issues
