Kate dressed as Toad

Congratulations to Kate, our longest serving Project Manager, on successfully completing her Open University Postgraduate Diploma Course Managing Performance and Change and passing with flying colours. Kate worked very hard, combining her studies with her day-to-day role, and thoroughly deserves the success. The rest of us learnt some new things too!

The death of John Zajac, from the North of Tyne ISSP, has left us all very sad. We had worked with John since 2003, developing and running the Choices project and very much admired his drive and his commitment to improving the lives of the young people. John always approached the challenges of the project with determination and a willingness to try new things, and working with him was always a pleasure. He will be very sadly missed. Our thoughts and condolences go to his family.

Map of homelessness

The Status Project is an exciting project exploring homelessness. A consultation event held in the Performing Arts Space at Crisis Skylight with artist Heath Bunting enabled us to invite comment and suggestions on the status map which charts homelessness. Feedback from this event will contribute to the future development of the map which we hope will improve services for people experiencing homelessness. For more information on this project see the Status Project page.

The Lost Rainbow publication produced by the Ynot? project launched at Seven Stories, The Centre for the Children's Book on 27th August and more than eighty guests enjoyed a puppet show and the opportunity to buy a signed copy of the book. This lovely illustrated children's story book takes us on a journey with a chameleon to recover the colours of the rainbow. If you missed the launch, you can buy the book from the Publications page!
